The Tula temperament
Movable air under Venus makes a temperament that weighs. A Tula Moon can hold two sides of a question with genuine sympathy for both, which is what makes the sign such a good negotiator and such a slow decider. The discomfort with discord is real: Tula will often take on an unfair share of the work simply to avoid an argument about the split.
Being movable, the sign initiates — but it initiates through other people. Tula's instinct in any new situation is to find the relationship first and the plan second, and its natural authority comes from persuasion rather than force. The failure mode is deciding by default, letting the choice be made by whoever pushed hardest.
Ruled by Venus
Venus rules Tula, so partnership, contracts and aesthetics run through everything. Friday is your weekday. Saturn is exalted at twenty degrees of Tula, which is unusual and important: the sign rewards structure, fairness and long patience more than its reputation for softness suggests. Judges, arbitrators and diplomats are a Tula speciality for exactly this reason.
The Sun is debilitated at ten degrees of Tula. The classical reading is that Tula is uncomfortable with unilateral authority — its own included. Standing alone and simply declaring the outcome costs a Tula Moon more than it costs anyone else.
The nakshatras inside Tula
Tula holds the last two quarters of Chitra, all of Swati, and the first three quarters of Vishakha. Chitra, ruled by Mars with Tvashtar the celestial architect as its deity, is the maker — form, design, the well-built thing. Swati, ruled by Rahu with Vayu as its deity, is the wind: independent, mobile, self-directed, the most self-sufficient quarter of a sign otherwise defined by partnership.
Vishakha, ruled by Jupiter with Indra and Agni as its deities, is the goal-driven part — sustained ambition, and a willingness to push through the last stretch. A Swati Moon and a Vishakha Moon are both Tula and want very different things from a day.
Which days lift Tula, and which test it
The strong days for Tula are those where the transiting Moon reaches a supportive count from your rashi. They are the days for the negotiation, the introduction and the agreement you want signed rather than merely discussed.
When the Moon sits in the fourth, eighth or twelfth from Tula, the balance the sign relies on goes. Old grievances resurface inside new arguments. The traditional advice is to postpone the difficult conversation by a day rather than to have it badly.
The whole scheme is Chandra Gochara: count from your own rashi to the rashi the Moon is in today, and the count decides the tone. This is the full table for Tula — the star rating above is built from it, adjusted for the paksha and for whether the weekday lord is friendly to Venus.

Tula with other rashis
Tula shares Venus with Vrishabha and finds conversational ease with Mithuna and Kumbha. Its opposite sign, Mesha, is the classical attraction-and-friction axis. As always, Ashtakoota scoring on the two birth stars is what actually decides a match; the sign pairing is only the first look.
The kundli matching page scores all eight kootas out of thirty-six from two birth dates, and flags the classical cancellations that a bare score hides.
